In this tutorial you are going to learn how shell tool functions. Follow the steps as shown below 
 
1) Create a cube as shown in Figure 1. {Follow the steps shown in the link to create a cube}

2) Select Shell tool from toolbar, from Features toolbar or from insert>Features>Shell as shown in figure 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
