In this tutorial you are going to learn how Extrude tool functions. Follow the steps as shown below: 
 
1) Double click SolidWorks Icon in desktop to open the application as shown in Figure 1.

2) Select the "New Document" from right hand top corner of the SolidWorks window to open new file as shown in Figure 2.

3) Click part icon from the New SolidWorks Document dialogue box and click ok as shown in Figure 3 .
