In this tutorial we are going to make texture that will look like a skin of tiger. Follow the steps as shown below to
learn how I have tweaked with the Photoshop tools to get best result: |
| |
1) Let us create a new document of 400x400 dimension, you can choose whatever size you want and fill a color. For this
tutorial I have painted it orange at the top with a lighter base as shown in figure 1. Which would be base skin color for
this tutorial. |

2) Next create a new layer and fill it with mid grey RGB value = 128, 128, 128, as shown in
figure 2. |

3) Now we need to add noise to the new layer. For that go to "Filter>Noise>Add Noise"
menu and select Add Noise { Applies random pixels to an image, simulating the effect of shooting pictures on high-speed film. The Add
Noise filter can also be used to reduce banding in feathered selections or graduated fills or to give a more realistic look to heavily retouched areas.
Options include noise distribution: Uniform distributes color values of noise using random numbers between 0 and plus or minus the specified value for a
subtle effect; Gaussian distributes color values of noise along a bell-shaped curve for a speckled effect. The Monochromatic option applies the filter to
only the tonal elements in the image without changing the colors.} as shown in figure 3. |
