This tutorial on part creation provides a step by step instruction on creating an assembly using the hinge base parts and hinge pin that we created in the following tutorials - Creating Hinge Base Part and Creating Hinge Pin. Follow the below steps for details. 
 
1) On the Standard toolbar, click the (New) button, select an assembly template, and click OK to create a new file as shown in Figure 1..

2) When the assembly file opens click on (Place Component) button in "Assembly Panel". When windows dialog box pops up to locate the component which has to be opened. In this case let us open all the three parts which we created in the following tutorials - Creating Hinge Base Part and Creating Hinge Pin. You can see that all the three parts will be opened in assembly file as shown in Figure 2.

3) Now move the parts and place the hinges as shown in Figure 3.

4) Now click on (Constraint) button in "Assemble Panel" and when "Place Constraint" dialog box appears click on "Assembly" tab and select "Insert" as type and the selection for mating should be as shown in Figure 4. When finished click ok.
