Slot - Tutorial for beginners

In this tutorial you are going to learn to create a slot feature on an existing solid part. Follow the steps as shown below:
1) Open the part like the one shown in
Figure 1
. {Click the
link
to learn how the part was created.}

2) Create a sketch as shown in
Figure 2
. {Which would be center curve sketch}
Figure 2.
3) Create one more sketch as shown in
Figure 3
.{Which would be profile sketch}
Figure 3.
4) Now select
Slot tool
from toolbar or from
Insert>Sketcher-Based Features>Slot
menu as shown in
Figure 4
and
5
respectively.

5) When
"Slot Definition"
dialogue box appears select
figure 3
as profile and
figure 2
as center curve as shown in
figure 6
.

6) Now click
OK
button in
"Slot Definition"
dialogue box, and the part would be as shown in
figure 7
.
