Creating glass bottle in 3D Max - Tutorial for beginners

Glass can be a pretty difficult material to make photorealistically in 3D Max, but once you have got the hang of it, it becomes easy to create some amazing scenes. Here's how to do it. Follow the steps shown below. 
 
1) Have a look on Google images for a nice glass bottle and save it to your hard drive. When Max has started, go Views->Viewport background. When the new screen pops up, click on 'files' and find your newly saved bottle image. Make sure 'Match bitmap' is checked. This helps keep the aspect ratio of the image so it doesn't get distorted. Also check 'Lock zoom and pan', so when you zoom out your model the background zooms with it as shown in Figure 1.

2) In the front viewport, click on the create panel, then on the shapes tab. Click the rectangle button and drag from top left to bottom right as shown. It doesn't have to be perfect as we are going to modify it as shown in figure 2.
